El uso de la hoja de coca y el aloe vera, forma parte del conjunto de costumbres y tradiciones de muchos pueblos de Bolivia, El medicamento semisintético producido en la Universidad Nacional del Oriente denominado UNODOL está formado a partir de estos elementos, se puso a prueba en heridas de un paciente de 53 años, aliviando el dolor y desinflamando el sitio a tratar, se presentó solo una reacción adversa en forma de irritación de tamaño diminuto que no duró más de dos días y que no produjo una incapacidad para el paciente, al finalizar el proceso de sanación de la herida, se presentó una hiperpigmentación de la parte afectada.
The use of the coca leaf and aloe vera is part of the set of customs and traditions of many Bolivian peoples. From these elements, the semi-synthetic medicine produced at the Universidad Nacional del Oriente called UNODOL is formed It was tested on the wounds of a 53-year-old patient, relieving pain and reducing inflammation of the site to be treated, only one adverse reaction occurred in the form of a small irritation which did not last more than two days and did not incapacitate the patient.
