PREVALENCIA DEL VIH/SIDA EN PACIENTES DE 14 A 70 AÑOS QUE INGRESARON AL “HOSPITAL MUNICIPAL DEL TORNO” ENTRE ABRIL DEL 2021 HASTA ABRIL DEL 2022

El VIH, es un retrovirus que infecta las células del sistema inmune, originando una enfermedad crónica transmisible definida como SIDA. El SIDA, etapa final de la infección se caracteriza por la presencia de enfermedades oportunistas. La terapia Antirretroviral (TAR), consigue que la carga viral permanezca indetectable en el organismo, por ende, el objetivo de esta investigación es determinar la prevalencia del VIH/SIDA en pacientes de 14 a 70 años de edad que ingresaron al Hospital Municipal del Torno en el periodo de abril del 2021 hasta abril del 2022. La metodologia empleada es de tipo transversal, descriptivo y observacional. La población de estudio estuvo compuesta por un total de 3876 pacientes de 14 a 70 años de edad, entre hombres y mujeres, 46 resultaron positivos (reactor) mediante la prueba rápida; siendo en su mayoría mujeres embarazadas con 17 casos equivalentes al 37%. De estos 46 casos, 22 fueron positivos confirmados por CDEVIR Santa Cruz según algoritmo vigente en el

país, siendo en su mayoría hombres, con 10 casos; equivalentes al 0.25%, mujeres no embarazadas 8 casos, 0.21% y 4 casos para mujeres embarazadas 0.10%, las edades predominantes fueron entre 14 a 35 años, dando una prevalencia del VIH del 0.56%.

ABSTRACT

The HIV is a retrovirus that infects the cells of the immune system, causing a chronic communicable disease defined as AIDS. AIDS, final stage of infection characterized by the presence of opportunistic diseases. Antiretroviral therapy (ART), achieves that the viral load remains undetectable in the body, therefore, the objective of this research is to determine the prevalence of HIV / AIDS in patients from 14 to 70 years of age who were admitted to the Municipal Hospital of La Torno in the period from April 2021 to April 2022. The methodology used is cross-sectional, descriptive and observational. The study population was composed of a total of 3876 patients aged 14 to 70 years between men and women, 46 were positive (reactor) by rapid test; being mostly pregnant women with 17 cases equivalent to 37%. Of these 46 cases, 22 were positive confirmed by CDEVIR Santa Cruz according to the algorithm in force in the country, being mostly men, with 10 cases equivalent to 0.25%, non-pregnant women 8 cases, 0.21% and 4 cases for pregnant women 0.10%, the predominant ages were between 14 to 35 years, giving an HIV prevalence of 0.56%.
